    And Intel won't cut checks for a venue, nor will any other sponsor, and if you charge admission Lanfest won't let you recoup the venue cost from the admission. And if I had wheels I'd be a wagon.

    Given the attitude of the OP in that reddit post (I know who he is) it seems that the core group involved in this is more interested in throwing together a small LAN like I used to do at my house in Amarillo than they are in having a big event with any real structure. No disrespect Lancer, but that's just how I'm seeing things.

    I'm not saying I don't have fun at those type of events, but if I'm shelling out twenty bucks I'd rather it be a much more structured event. Also, the location is awful for anyone that doesn't live down the road like myself. There's precisely ****-all within walking distance of Intel's campus and the nearest hotel isn't the greatest to get in and out of. That's beside the access controls in place at Intel's building that don't exactly make it friendly for an open to the public event.
